Climbing Kilimanjaro
WE AfriHug team has arrived in Tanzania, Africa. The volunteers have been for 5 days in Dar es Salaam, where their first training seminar took place. During the first training day, the team interacted with almost 40 Board members of the University of Dar es Salaam, presenting Erasmus+ and raising the awareness on mobility opportunities between European and African Universities. During the second training day “Erasmus+: Open your mind, Change your life” the team interacted with more than 250 University students & Academic Staff through dynamic and interactive presentations but also through a “live library”, the WE AfriHug team raised the awareness on Erasmus+ opportunities. The audience had the chance to get informed in detail about the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees, the procedures and applications and also tips have been given to the students who would like to get involved in the future.
Now, the 5th member, Dimitris Christodoulou, who comes from Cyprus has joined the team in Tanzania and all together are getting ready for their first sports milestone, to climb to the top of Africa, mount Kilimanjaro for 6 days, from 06/01/2018 until 11/01/2018. The journey will continue to Kenya, Uganda, Togo, Ghana and Western Sahara, in order to continue empowering the youth in local communities through education, to take action, participate in sports milestones and conduct an academic research.
