WE AfriHug team continues its path now in Western Africa interacting and empowering young people. After a long journey from the East to the West of Africa, the team arrived safely in the capital of Togo, Lomé.

For safety reasons, the second sports milestone “Cycling in Togo from Lomé to Atakpamé” has been cancelled. Instead, the team visited two more schools for the training seminars. The target group of the project in Togo was High-school students. In excellent collaboration with the local partner Acet-Togo (Association pour la Culture, l’ Education et le Tourisme au Togo), the volunteers entered and visited two High-schools, one public and one private. After discussions with the directors of the schools, all the details have been arranged for the implementation of the non-formal education training seminars from WE AfriHug team.

On 8th of February, the team visited the High-school “Collège et Lycée Essor” for the first challenging training seminar based on non-formal education. 62 students participated in various innovative activities experiencing for first time the non-formal education and the method “learning by doing.” As always, the focus of the training was the development of significant soft skills, which are needed for the 21st century. The next day, on 9th of February, two non-formal education training seminars took place. In the morning at the High-school “Lycée d’Enseignement Technique et Professionnel”, where 55 students participated and in the afternoon at the High-school “Collège et Lycée Essor”, where the same 62 students have been trained for a second day. In the end, the students received certificates of participation for their 2-day training. On 10th of February, the team visited again the “Lycée d’Enseignement Technique et Professionnel” and worked with the same 55 students. During the training seminar, the students were able to develop soft skills, express their opinion about non-formal education and evaluate the training.

Interviews from the volunteers, the students, the partner organization members and the members of WE AfriHug team have been conducted, in order to shape the whole experience from different perspectives.

Il team WE AfriHug continua il suo percorso nell’Africa dell’ovest incontrando i giovani. Dopo un lungo viaggio da Est a Ovest del continente la squadra è arrivata sana e salva nella capitalo del Togo, Lomé.

Per ragioni di sicurezza la seconda impresa sportiva prevista, il tratto in bicicletta dal Lomé ad Atakpamé è stato annullato. Al suo posto il team ha visitato due scuole dove ha realizzato i training formativi. Il target in Togo è stato composto dagli studenti liceali. Grazie ad una eccellente collaborazione con il partner locale Acet-Togo (Association pour la Culture, l’Education et le Tourisme au Togo), i volontari sono entrati in due scuole, una pubblica e una privata. Dopo aver incontrato e discusso con i rispettivi presidi, tutti i dettagli sono stati organizzati per i due giorni di Educazione Non-Formale con WE AfriHug.

L’8 Febbraio il team WE AfriHug ha visitato il liceo “Collège et Lycée Essor” per la prima sessione di training basata su un approccio di Educazione Non-Formale. 62 studenti hanno partecipato in diverse attività innovative sperimentando per la prima volta questo approccio all’educazione ed “imparare-facendo”.  Come sempre, il focus di questi due giorni è stato lo sviluppo di soft skills richieste nel nostro secolo. Il giorno seguente, il 9 Febbraio, due diverse sessioni di training hanno avuto luogo. Una la mattina presso il liceo “Lycée d’Enseignement Technique et Professionnel” che ha coinvolto 55 studenti, l’altro nel pomeriggio presso “Collège et Lycée Essor” a cui hanno partecipato 62 studenti. Alla fine della sessione i ragazzi hanno ricevuto un attestato di partecipazione ai due giorni di training, dove hanno potuto sviluppare soft skills, esprimere le loro opinioni anche rispetto all’Educazione Non-Formale e valutare il training.

Sono state condotte interviste ai volontari, agli studenti e ai membri dell’organizzazione partner al fine di comporre un’immagine di questa esperienza partendo da diversi punti di vista.

Η ομάδα του WE AfriHug συνεχίζει το πρόγραμμά της στην άλλη άκρη της Αφρικής ενδυναμώνοντας  όλο και περισσότερους νέους μέσω της εκπαίδευσης. Μετά από ένα μακρύ ταξίδι από το ανατολικό στο δυτικό κομμάτι, οι εθελοντές έφτασαν στον επόμενο προορισμό, την πρωτεύουσα του Τόγκο, Λομέ.

Για λόγους ασφαλείας, η δεύτερη αθλητική δοκιμασία “Ποδηλασία στο Τόγκο από το Λομέ εως το Atakpamé” ακυρώθηκε. Αντ’ αυτού, οι εθελοντές επισκέφτηκαν 2 ακόμη λύκεια και αλληλεπίδρασαν με περισσότερους μαθητές. Μετά από άψογη συνεργασία με τον τοπικό συνεργάτη Acet-Togo (Association pour la Culture, l’ Education et le Tourisme au Togo), οι εθελοντές επισκέφτηκαν 2 λύκεια, ένα δημόσιο και ένα ιδιωτικό. Αφού εξήγησαν το πρότζεκτ και συζήτησαν με τους διευθυντές, κανόνισαν τις λεπτομέρειες για τα εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια μη-τυπικής μάθησης.

Στις 8 Φεβρουαρίου, η ομάδα επισκέφτηκε το σχολείο “Collège et Lycée Essor” για το πρώτο σεμινάριο μη-τυπικής μάθησης. 62 μαθητές συμμετείχαν στις καινοτόμες δραστηριότητες, έχοντας την ευκαιρία να ζήσουν για πρώτη φορά την εμπειρία της μη-τυπικής μάθησης και της μεθόδου “learning by doing”. Όπως πάντα, το επίκεντρο της εκπαίδευση ήταν η ανάπτυξη σημαντικών δεξιοτήτων για τον 21ο αιώνα. Την επομένη, 2 εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια έλαβαν χώρα. Το πρωί, στο σχολείο “Lycée d’Enseignement Technique et Professionnel”, όπου 55 μαθητές συμμετείχαν και το απόγευμα στο σχολείο “Collège et Lycée Essor”, όπου οι ίδιοι 62 μαθητές εκπαιδεύτηκαν για δεύτερη μέρα. Στο τέλος, οι μαθητές παρέλαβαν πιστοποιητικά συμμετοχής για το διήμερο σεμινάριο. Στις 10 Φεβρουαρίου, η ομάδα επισκέφτηκε ξανά το “Lycée d’Enseignement Technique et Professionnel” και δούλεψε με τους ίδιους 55 μαθητές. Κατά τη διάρκεια του σεμιναρίου, οι μαθητές ανέπτυξαν δεξιότητες, εξέφρασαν τη γνώμη τους για τη μη-τυπική μάθηση και αξιολόγησαν το σεμινάριο.  

Τέλος, συνεντεύξεις πραγματοποιήθηκαν από εθελοντές, μαθητές, μέλη της οργάνωσης των συνεργατών μας καθώς και μέλη της ομάδας του WE AfriHug με στόχο να μεταδώσουν την εμπειρία τους από διαφορετική οπτική γωνία.
