“WE AfriHug” has successfully completed the planned actions in Tanzania. A two-day training course was conducted on 3rd and 4th of January at the University of Dar es Salaam, where “WE AfriHug” Team informed the participants about the Erasmus + program.

Specifically, on 3rd of January 40 academic staff attended, among them Deans and Directors of various Departments of the University. The audience was informed of how they could become part of the Erasmus+. The audience stated that there is a need for further training regarding international education programs due the lack of information.

On 4th of January the 250 attended students in the seminar were informed about the program and how to participate on it. Moreover, the attendants had the chance to get informed about the mobility opportunities in Europe. The students were excited because they were not informed regarding mobility opportunities and most of them are intended to apply for postgraduate studies abroad. Finally, data have been gathered regarding educational mobility and sustainable development through education, in the framework of the implementation of the research dissertation.

Afterwards, the volunteers traveled for 6 days to Kilimanjaro, aiming to climb the summit of Africa, at 5,756 meters following the Machame route. The climbing was very challenging for the team due the adverse weather conditions combined with insomnia and fatigue, forcing the volunteers to overcome their limits. The team successfully climbed until the Stella peak at 5,756 meters, promoting the loud message of unity, teamwork and strength.

The WE AfriHug team is already on the way to the next stations, Kenya and Uganda where they will conduct  training seminars in Universities and High-Schools, aiming the empowerment of the youth through education.

“WE AfriHug” ha completato con successo le azioni pianificate in Tanzania. Il 3 e il 4 gennaio è stato organizzato un corso di formazione di due giorni presso l’Università di Dar es Salaam, dove il gruppo “WE AfriHug” ha aggiornato i partecipanti sul programma Erasmus+.

Nello specifico, il team ha interagito con quasi 40 membri del consiglio di amministrazione dell’Università di Dar es Salaam, presentando Erasmus+ e sensibilizzando sulle opportunità di mobilità tra università europee e africane. I partecipanti hanno affermato esserci il bisogno di maggiori training seminars per le mancanze di informazioni che sentono di avere riguardo a questo programma a cui sono molto interessati.

Il 4 gennaio i 250 studenti partecipanti al seminario sono stati informati sul programma e su come partecipare. Inoltre hanno avuto la possibilità di informarsi sulle opportunità di mobilità in Europa. Gli studenti erano entusiasti per le opportunità di mobilità e la maggior parte di loro è interessata a fare domanda per gli studi post-laurea all’estero. Infine, sono stati raccolti dati riguardanti la mobilità educativa e lo sviluppo sostenibile attraverso l’educazione, nel quadro dell’attuazione della tesi di ricerca.

Successivamente, i volontari hanno viaggiato per 6 giorni al Kilimangiaro, con l’obiettivo di scalare la vetta dell’Africa, a 5.756 metri seguendo la Machame route. L’ascesa è stata molto impegnativa per il team a causa delle avverse condizioni meteorologiche combinate con l’insonnia e la fatica, costringendo i volontari a superare i propri limiti. La squadra ha scalato con successo fino al Stella Point Peak a 5.756 metri, promuovendo il messaggio forte di unità, lavoro di squadra e forza.

Il team di WE AfriHug è già in viaggio verso le prossime stazioni, Kenya e Uganda, dove condurranno seminari di formazione nelle università e nelle scuole superiori, mirando alla crescita personale dei giovani attraverso l’educazione.

Το WE AfriHug μόλις ολοκλήρωσε με επιτυχία τις προγραμματισμένες δράσεις του στην Τανζανία. Στις 3 και 4 Ιανουαρίου διεξήχθη διήμερο εκπαιδευτικό σεμινάριο στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Νταρ ες Σαλάαμ, όπου η ομάδα του WE AfriHug ενημέρωσε τους παρευρισκομένους για το πρόγραμμα Erasmus+.

Πιο συγκεκριμένα, στις 3 Ιανουαρίου το παρόν έδωσαν σχεδόν 40 άτομα από το διοικητικό προσωπικό, ανάμεσα στους οποίους Κοσμήτορες και Διευθυντές διαφόρων τμημάτων του Πανεπιστημίου. Οι παρευρισκόμενοι ενημερώθηκαν για το πώς θα μπορούσαν οι ίδιοι αλλά και ως Πανεπιστήμιο να αποτελέσουν μέρος του προγράμματος Erasmus+. Το σεμινάριο ήταν αρκετά ενδιαφέρον , όπως και οι ίδιοι δήλωσαν έχουν την ανάγκη για περαιτέρω επιμόρφωση  πάνω σε διεθνή εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα καθώς υπάρχει έλλειψη πληροφόρησης.

Στις 4 Ιανουαρίου παρευρέθηκαν 250 φοιτητές του πανεπιστημίου, οι οποίοι ενημερώθηκαν τόσο για το πρόγραμμα, τον τρόπο συμμετοχής τους σε αυτό, όσο και για ευκαιρίες κινητικότητας στην Ευρώπη. Οι φοιτητές ήταν αρκετά ενθουσιασμένοι καθώς δεν γνώριζαν τίποτα σχετικά με τις ευκαιρίες κινητικότητας και μάλιστα οι περισσότεροι δήλωσαν ότι σκοπεύουν να κάνουν αίτηση για μεταπτυχιακά στο εξωτερικό. Τέλος, στο πλαίσιο έρευνας συλλέχτηκαν δεδομένα για την εκπόνηση εργασίας με θέμα την εκπαιδευτική κινητικότητα και τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη μέσω της εκπαίδευσης.

Αμέσως μετά, οι εθελοντές ταξίδεψαν για 6 ημέρες στο Κιλιμάντζαρο με στόχο την ανάβαση στην κορυφή της Αφρικής, στα 5.756 μέτρα ακολουθώντας τη διαδρομή “Machame”. Η ανάβαση ήταν μια πρόκληση για την ομάδα, διότι οι αντίξοες καιρικές συνθήκες σε συνδυασμό με την αϋπνία και την κόπωση, ανάγκασαν τους εθελοντές να ξεπεράσουν τα όρια τους και τη ζώνη ασφαλείας τους. Αποτέλεσμα ήταν η επιτυχής ανάβαση της ομάδας στην κορυφή Stella στα 5.756 μέτρα κι το ηχηρό μήνυμα ενότητας, ομαδικότητας και δύναμης.

Η ομάδα του WE AfriHug βρίσκεται ήδη στο δρόμο για τους επόμενους σταθμούς, την Κένυα και την Ουγκάντα όπου και θα διεξάγουν εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια σε Πανεπιστήμια αλλά και Λύκεια με βασικό στόχο την ενδυνάμωση της νεολαίας μέσω της εκπαίδευσης.
